Do I have time to look for a wedding dress?
We hear you! At the minute planning a wedding is stress on top of stress! There’s just so many things to consider and so many unknowns. Add to that not being able to go out and actually view the things you are potentially trying to book and even the most chilled of couples could be tipped over the edge. We totally understand, and empathise with anyone trying to find the perfect dress at the minute.
Our couples know that we have their wedding in hand. We are doing what we can up to the point of needing fittings, so that when we are able to open our doors we can dive back into our fitting routine. We have made new tighter schedules with those getting married late summer, and worked out new paths for those who have had to postpone.
But, what if you don’t yet have your dress and are worried you wont have time once this is over? We’ve had a few emails about deadlines and lead times so I thought it was worth putting a blog together to explain the options and hopefully alleviate the situation.
We have dresses that you can take home straight away.
The benefit of having to take a step back from the day-to-day running of Legend, is that we are overflowing with ideas. Inspiration is not something we struggled with to begin with, but given the space to test out ideas has created an avalanche of new design concepts we can’t wait to work on. We definitely won’t get chance to bring everything to life, but part of our plans for the future includes building more time into our schedule for design development. So we need more space to showcase our new creations. This means that we will be open to selling many of our sample dresses.
If, when we are allowed to open, you come for a consultation and fall in love with one of the designs we have on the rail and it’s in a size that would work for you, we would be happy to sell it off the peg. It might be that you also manage to bag yourself a huge bargain if you chose one of our sale dresses. Win, Win!
We also have a brand new bridal section currently in development, which will expand the opportunity of picking a ready made dress. For the sake of this blog I’m going to call it our Chrysalis collection - partly as it’s a concept still in development, but the Chrysalis collection will be a selection of one-off wedding dresses ready to go!
Our Collection dresses can be ready in 12-16 weeks as standard sometimes quicker!
Our collection dresses are the ones you see in our webshop here! These designs have been created using fabrics we can get in a matter of days (if we don’t already stock them) and the patterns have been fully developed and graded. This means that your order can be built into our work schedule without any delays. Our standard time frame is 12-16 weeks, however we might even be able to ‘fast track’ the order dependent on other commitments and availability of our team to do extra hours. There is a fee to fast track an order, to be made within 8-11 weeks has a fee of £100. It’s also possible to get your dress made in as short a time as 3-7 weeks for a fee of £200… a brand new dress created to your dress size in as little as a month!
A completely bespoke design in just 6 months
So, this is the most nebulous aspect of what we do. Working with you to create an entirely unique and original design to your personal requirements and measurements. We usually recommend at least 9 months for a bespoke wedding dress, but due to the next 4 months weddings being scattered over the next 2 years we can be a bit more flexible than usual.
