Charlotte is the voice behind much of Legend.

While she spent many years making wedding dresses alongside sister Rachel, these days she's usually found somewhere between a notebook full of ideas, a website that keeps evolving and an email she's rewriting for the tenth time because one sentence doesn't quite feel right.

She's endlessly curious and loves asking "What if...?" Whether it's designing a new collection, creating artwork, writing about mythology, rethinking the way we talk about dress sizes or dreaming up entirely new projects, she's always looking for better ways to help people feel seen, understood and welcomed.

For Charlotte, design isn't limited to fabric. It's the words people read before they book an appointment. It's the feeling someone has when they walk through the studio door. It's the story behind a dress, the experience of choosing it and the community that grows around it.

People often assume she's the serious one. The organised one. The sensible counterpart to Rachel's wonderfully infectious giggle. Behind the calm exterior is someone who cares deeply about people and has a remarkable ability to imagine how seemingly unrelated ideas might connect.

Most of the biggest changes at Legend have started life as one of Charlotte's rabbit holes, usually beginning with the words, "Riiiight, I've had an idea..."

Rachel is the original Legend.

While Charlotte is usually the one asking, "What if...?", Rachel is the one quietly working out exactly how to make it happen.

She's our technical guru, pattern cutter and couture dressmaker, with an instinctive understanding of structure, balance and fit that has been honed over decades of creating wedding dresses. Whether she's building hidden corsetry, solving a particularly complicated design challenge or working out how to make something look effortless, this is where she's happiest.

In fact, the more complicated the project, the better. Rachel thrives on solving puzzles and usually has several things happening at once. It's where her mind feels most at home.

You’ll probably never meet Rachel, given the choice she'd much rather disappear into the sewing room and hide forever. In fact she'd prefer people think she was a mythical creature.

The reality, of course, is rather different. Spend a little time with Rachel and you'll quickly discover a mischievous sense of humour, an infectious giggle and a tendency to wander off on what we affectionately call "sister business" - usually involving hovering beside Charlotte's chair with some kind of intent.

She may not seek the spotlight, but every Legend gown carries her fingerprints in one way or another.

If you've visited Legend, there's a good chance you've been welcomed by Raquel.

She has an extraordinary gift for putting people at ease. She genuinely loves meeting new people, and hosting bridal appointments is where she shines. Somehow she always seems to sense how someone is feeling, often before they've found the words themselves, instinctively knowing when to encourage, when to listen and when to quietly bring out one more dress that nobody had considered.

Just when you think you've found "the one", Raquel is usually the person saying, "Humour me... let's just try this one."

And remarkably often, she's right.

Before joining Legend, Raquel had already spent many years in bridal manufacture. Her experience means she can build layers of tulle at astonishing speed, but it's her warmth, humour and endless collection of stories that keep us all entertained.

Even after decades of friendship, she still surprises us with tales we've somehow never heard before.

If you're lucky, you might even hear about the time she was slapped by a monkey.

Where Raquel fills a room with stories, Ruby brings a quiet sense of calm.

She has a wonderfully gentle way about her that helps people relax without even realising it. Never one to seek the spotlight, she's often happiest listening, observing and giving people the space they need to discover how they truly feel.

Behind the scenes, Ruby's perfectionism comes into its own. She loves losing herself in intricate projects that demand patience and precision, making her the natural choice for the hand-finished details that bring so many Legend designs to life. From individually placing crystals onto the spiderwebs of our Anansi veils to creating the constellations across our Zorya gowns, she's happiest when every tiny detail is exactly where it belongs.

Ruby also has a deep appreciation for order. She loves a good list, whether it's planning studio projects or, as we recently discovered, ranking her favourite animated mice and favourite novelty bins.

We still haven't quite worked out how those lists came to exist.

But somehow, it feels perfectly Ruby.
