Our Philosophy is simple
To help you feel immortal on your wedding day!
Whether you want to feel like a nymph straight out of your favourite fantasy novel, or a demon coming into their power, we want nothing more than for you to feel like the most bad-ass version of yourself on your wedding day.
Before your appointment we will send you a little questionnaire that will help us prepare for your appointment. Little questions like when and where you’re getting married, to more fluid questions about styles and themes, and a couple of really important questions about any concerns or stress points that we might need to be aware of.
But first and foremost, we always try to be the space you need. No matter your gender, sexuality, size, age, race - truly, if you feel like you want to wear a Legend dress, then you belong here. Our environment ensures that every individual in honoured and respected.
About Your Appointment
Your time with us is all about you; your story, your style, your comfort. We know wedding dress shopping can feel like a big moment (sometimes even a daunting one), so we’ve designed our appointments to be calm, supportive, and completely free of pressure.
How It Works
We’ll welcome you into the studio for a 90-minute private appointment. During this time, you’re free to try on as many dresses as you like, whether that’s two, ten, or everything that catches your eye.
We’ll chat with you about each gown; how it makes you feel, what you love, and what isn’t quite right, so we can suggest new styles that reflect you. This process helps us gently narrow down your selection until you start to see a clear favourite emerge.
A Space That Adapts to You
We know that everyone experiences this moment differently. Some people want to squeal, cry, and pop the bubbly; others need a quiet, reflective space to process. We’re here for all of it.
We’ll read the room and match your energy - sharing in your excitement when you’ve found “the one,” or quietly protecting the space if you need time to think or decompress. If you’re overwhelmed, we can slow things down, take breaks, or shield you from outside input so you can breathe and reset.
No Pressure, Ever
This is a big decision, and you deserve to make it on your own terms. There are no sales tactics, no rushing, no pressure. Just a safe space, expert guidance, and a team that’s 100% on your side.
How to prepare for your appointment
We want you to feel excited, comfortable, and ready to enjoy the experience.
Here are our tips for getting the most out of your time with us:
-
You don’t need anything fancy - just wear comfortable underwear and whatever makes you feel most at ease. Nude or light colours can be helpful under gowns with plunging necklines or low backs, but it’s not essential. If you plan to wear special lingerie, shapewear or shoes on your wedding day. feel free to bring them along.
-
The right guests can make your appointment magical. Choose the people who lift you up and respect your choices.
If that’s one person, great.
If it’s three, also great.
If you want to come on your own, great.
If you want to bring your partner, also great.
Trust your gut - you deserve a safe and supportive space to make decisions without pressure.
-
Photo’s, Pinterest boards, colour palettes… we love them all!
They give us a starting point, but sometimes, the gown that takes your breath away is the one you never expected.
-
It might sound simple, but trying on dresses can be surprisingly tiring. Arrive fuelled and hydrated so you can focus on how you feel, not how hungry you are.
-
Tell us how each dress makes you feel - good, bad, or confused. We ask questions along the way because it helps us learn what you love and what to leave behind.
There’s no judgement here, only curiosity and a desire to help you feel incredible.
-
Dress shopping can bring up all sorts of emotions; excitement, nostalgia, nerves, even tears. All of it is normal. You don’t have to perform or hold it together. This is your time to be completely yourself, however that looks.

Making You Feel Comfortable
One of the greatest privileges of our work is meeting people at a moment in their lives when they're choosing how they want to show up in the world. We don't believe anyone should have to become someone else to get married.
Whether that means wearing black instead of white, choosing a suit over a dress, celebrating your love with someone of the same gender, embracing your identity, or simply rejecting traditions that don't feel like you, we're here for it.
Love isn't one shape.
Neither are weddings.
And neither are people.
At Legend, you'll never need to explain or justify who you are. Our job isn't to decide what a wedding should look like. Our job is to help you feel completely yourself within it.
Because everyone deserves to feel seen, respected and celebrated exactly as they are.

Physical Accessibility
-
There is a car park directly next to our building and on street parking. We are on quite a steep hill though, so with arrangement we can reserve the use of the courtyard so you can park directly outside our door.
-
There is one step into the building. The step is __ high and we can install a ramp in advance if needed.
-
The entrance isn’t quite wide enough for a wheelchair. If you use a wheelchair we are accostomed to helping people into the building.
-
Once in the building there are no steps. the space is open plan and obstruction free.
-
The fitting room is __; large enough for 2 people, a sturdy stand chair and the biggest of dresses should they be the ones you want to try.
-
The toilet is not an accessible area. There is not access for a wheelchair, or grab rails.
Sensory Information
-
When you book an appointment at Legend Bridal you are the only booking for that time.
Consultations are 90 mins
Fittings are 60 mins
There are other people in the studio in the sewing room, but the spaces are separate. The only person you will meet is the person hosting your appointment that day
-
We do play music to create atmosphere; usually goth/metal/rock
We are very happy to adjust volume and type of music being played, and even happy to turn it off if that’s your preference.
If you have a playlist that you would prefer to play you are welcome to share it with the speaker on the day.
You are also welcome to wear headphones.
With the absence of music, you may be able to hear noises from the sewing room; sewing machine, the steamer for instance.
-
There is one low luminosity tube light overhead and several angled spotlights to highlight features. None of the spotlights are directed at you and all are individually controlled so that we can modify the lighting as required.
-
We do use a electronic room diffuser with a delicate blend of Lavender, Jasmine and Sandalwood.
Please do let us know if you are sensitive to essential oils and aromas and we won’t turn it on that day.
-
The studio runs a degree colder than ambient. It can get quite hot trying on dresses so we have found most people prefer a cooler atmosphere. That said, if you prefer a warmer environment we hare happy to turn the heaters up.
Inclusivity
-
I am very word orientated, I like to see everything written down and I love an email trail, but I understand that the idea of opening another email or feeling the pressure of having to respond can be a lot.
If you would prefer to communicate by phone we can make that happen.
-
We understand the overwhelm, how anxiety inducing it can be, how sensory heavy and full of decisions.
We welcome you bringing your safe person and making the space as calm as you need.
We encourage you to take your time and process everything. We recommend booking an appointment 16-18 months before the wedding, giving you 4-6 months to work out how you feel without the pressure of making a decision.
We’ll break down the process to make the decisions smaller and give you the space to dance, move, take breaks, have feelings, be yourself, go away and come back.
You are never forced to make a decision
-
All bodies are welcome
Measurements are simply numbers that help us create a beautiful garment for your body. They are not a reflection of your worth, your health, your identity or the space you deserve to take up in the world.
We have done away with sizes
We do use a size chart, but we have completely removed the size numbers. No comparing yourself to a size 14 here… comparison is the thief of joy
Sample sizes
Our sample sizes range from 25 inch waist to 48 inch waist… and we can make in ANY size

Supporting LGBTQIA+ couples isn't a box we tick or a statement we make once a year.
It's simply part of who we are.
We've always believed that love, identity and self-expression deserve to be celebrated, not explained. Whether you're lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, asexual, intersex or anywhere else within the beautifully diverse LGBTQIA+ community, you'll always be welcomed here with warmth, respect and genuine enthusiasm.
More importantly, we won't ask you to fit into outdated ideas of what a wedding, a bride or a marriage should look like.
We'll meet you exactly where you are, listen to your story and help create something that feels authentically yours.
Because everyone deserves to be celebrated without compromise.
-
We believe a wedding should reflect the people at the centre of it, including the beliefs, traditions and values that have shaped their lives.
Whether your ceremony is Christian, Pagan, Humanist, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, spiritual but not religious, or something entirely your own, we love seeing couples create celebrations that feel authentic and deeply personal.
Some weddings honour centuries of tradition. Others weave together different faiths, cultures or family customs in ways that are entirely unique. We think there's something incredibly beautiful about people sharing their beliefs with one another and creating new traditions together.
Our role isn't to define what a meaningful wedding should look like.
It's to celebrate the love, respect and intention behind it.
