Designing a bespoke gown isn't about creating the most extravagant dress imaginable.
It's about creating the right dress.
One that reflects your personality, your story and the way you want to feel on one of the most important days of your life.

Every bespoke dress begins with a conversation.
Bring your ideas, your Pinterest boards, your sketches or simply a feeling you can't quite put into words yet. Together we'll explore fabrics, silhouettes and symbolism, helping you discover what your dress wants to become.
Discover
This is where ideas start becoming real.
We'll sketch your design, explore proportions and design the foundations of your gown. We’ll try on dresses from our collection and explore fabrics. Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs come from trying on dresses that are completely different from the one you thought you wanted.
Trust the process
The first step is a toile/mock-up in calico. Your toile isn't designed to be beautiful. It's designed to answer questions.
Made in plain fabric, it allows us to perfect the structure, balance and fit before we ever cut into your chosen materials. It asks you to imagine what could be, rather than judge what you see in front of you.
For many people, this is the moment that requires the greatest leap of faith.

A bespoke wedding dress is unlike anything else we create.
Rather than beginning with an existing pattern, every bespoke commission starts with an idea. From the first sketches to the toile, multiple fittings and the final handcrafted gown, every stage is created specifically for you.
Because every design is completely unique, the time, materials and craftsmanship involved vary from project to project. The more intricate the design, the more hours are required to bring it to life.
For that reason, our bespoke commissions begin at £3,000.

Planning your bespoke dress

Not at all. Some people arrive with sketches, Pinterest boards and fabric samples, while others simply know how they want to feel on their wedding day. Both are equally valid starting points, and we'll guide you through the design process together.

Bespoke is perfect if you love collaborating, enjoy seeing ideas evolve and are excited by creating something completely unique. If you'd rather see the finished dress before making any decisions, one of our collection gowns may be a better fit.

We're always happy to take inspiration from history, mythology, fantasy and storytelling. Rather than creating replicas, we'll work with you to design a gown that captures the feeling and elements you love while becoming something that's uniquely yours.

We don't reproduce another designer's work.
However, inspiration is always welcome. Bring photographs, Pinterest boards or sketches and we'll explore what you love about them before creating a design that's entirely your own.

Yes! Whether they’re detailed drawings or quick doodles, they all help us understand your ideas.

That's one of the biggest advantages of our bespoke process.
Your toile allows us to refine necklines, proportions, sleeves and other design details before your final fabrics are ever cut, giving you confidence that the finished gown is exactly what you want.

Not necessarily - and that's completely normal.
Your toile is usually made from plain fabric and exists to perfect the fit, balance and structure of your design. It's a working prototype rather than a preview of the finished gown, so we ask you to look beyond the fabric and imagine what your dress will become.
Timescales

We recommend allowing around 12 months from your first consultation to your wedding day. This gives us time to design, create your toile, complete multiple fittings and make any refinements without rushing the process.

Most bespoke gowns require around four to five appointments, although more complex designs may occasionally require additional fittings.

Because bespoke relies on multiple fittings and refining your design as it evolves, we're generally unable to offer bespoke commissions remotely.
If you can't travel to our studio, one of our collection gowns is often a much better option.

Every design is completely unique, so your final quotation will depend on the complexity of the design, fabrics and craftsmanship involved.

We'll always do our best to give a rough idea if you email us with your thoughts, but an accurate quotation is only possible once we've explored your design together.

The cost of bespoke isn't simply about how a dress looks. It reflects the time spent designing, pattern cutting, creating a toile, refining the fit and building a completely original garment from scratch.
If you're looking for a simpler design, it may be worth exploring our collection first, where customisations can often achieve a similar result at a lower cost.
