Jessie & Colorado 16.09.23: All Things Fantasy

We are huge fans of themed weddings here at Legend, particularly if that theme is unapologetic, authentic and celebrates the betrothed and their personalities. Nothing more true can be said for Jessie and Colorado’s fantasy themed wedding.

Jessie was an international bride who first spotted our Persephone gown on pinterest before she was even engaged! Then when she was engaged, she knew exactly where to turn and fell completely in love with Zorya, Jessie got in touch via email and we began the process of making her dream wedding dress. Jessie opted for our all black Zorya, with the addition of pockets and a Helle cape to match which we shipped out to her in plenty of time so that she could arrange alterations appointments with a local seamstress if required.

Now that Jessie had decided on her dress, the couple could begin the quest to plan their perfect day. Jessie and Colorado are self-confessed nerds and love all things fantasy, think Lord Of The Rings, Dungeons and Dragons, crystals and swords and so it was very important to incorporate that into their wedding and what better way than to hold their ceremony and reception in a real castle!

The fantasy elements continued right through their wedding with giant dragons in the castle grounds, a crystal inspired wedding cake and Jessie even had a dagger hidden among her bouquet!

It wasn’t all fantasy and frolicking though, the day they got married was incredibly significant as it was Colorado’s parents wedding anniversary whom were sadly taken by a flash flood in 2021, we are so touched that Jessie and Colorado were able to share that information with us and it’s a testament to just how much we love each and every one of our couples, no matter the distance between us.

Jessie even shared a few words about the experience of buying her dress.

As for my experience with Legend, it was perfect. I had seen the Persephone dress on Pinterest years ago, and said that if I ever got married it would be in something like that. Then when we actually got engaged, I knew exactly where to look. I never even tried on any dresses in person, I knew mine would be coming from Legend from the start. I fell in love with the celestial theme on the Evening Star gown and it was love at first sight. The ordering process was incredibly straightforward and easy, and my dress fit perfectly upon arrival, I never even had to get alterations done. And I had pockets added, which made it easy to carry tissues and the notecards with my vows on them! I mostly worked with Charlotte and she was so friendly and helpful every time I emailed! The size inclusivity was incredibly refreshing to find as well, as there’s not many designers doing both plus size and alternative gowns.
