From Italy to Legend Bridal: Sara’s Journey to Finding Her Wedding Dress

Sara always knew she wouldn’t feel like herself in a traditional wedding dress. Living in Italy, surrounded by bridal expectations that leaned towards softness, simplicity, and convention, she struggled to imagine herself walking down the aisle in something that didn’t reflect who she already was.

She and Alessandro had been together for eighteen years. Their wedding was never going to be about reinvention. It was about recognition. About creating a day that felt honest. And for Sara, that meant finding a dress that carried the same dark romance, individuality, and quiet strength that already shaped the rest of her life.

That search eventually brought her to us - travelling from Italy to the UK in pursuit of something that felt less like costume and more like home.

When Traditional Bridal Doesn’t Feel Like You

Finding a wedding dress can feel complicated when you don’t see yourself reflected in traditional bridal imagery.

Sara knew she wanted something darker, more expressive, and more aligned with her personal style. She wasn’t looking to become a different version of herself for one day. She wanted to feel like herself, only elevated. That’s something we hear often within the studio.

For Sara, travelling from Tuscany to Legend Bridal felt worth it. Because sometimes the right dress isn’t the closest one. It’s the one that makes you exhale when you find it.

Travelling Across Countries for Every Fitting

Sara and Alessandro didn’t just travel once. They travelled from Italy for every fitting. Each appointment became part of the story. There is something incredibly special about shared fittings, about witnessing not just a bride choosing a dress, but a couple experiencing the process together.

Some appointments are quiet and thoughtful. Some are emotional. Some are filled with laughter. Sara and Alessandro brought warmth into every visit. They arrived not simply as clients, but as people genuinely excited to build this part of their wedding together.

The FaceTime Call We’ll Never Forget

Some of the most memorable moments from Sara’s journey weren’t the dress itself - tough doesn’t she look incredible in Asteria? It was the video calls to her family back home in Italy… the first, in their very first appointment choosing the dress, when Sara tried on Aradia for her family. Aradia is a goddess off witchcraft who’s history originated in Tuscany. She is a goddess of liberation and taught people witchcraft as a way of fighting oppression. The adoration was just immence. And then again in her final fitting when her family saw her for the first time in Asteria. Standing in the studio, surrounded by excitement, she shared that experience across countries, introducing them to the dress, the feeling, and the certainty that comes when something just feels right. It became one of the most joyful calls we’ve ever witnessed. Genuine excitement, shared in real time.

Moments like that remind us that bridal journeys are rarely about a single decision. They’re about connection. They ripple outward. They involve family, distance, anticipation, and all the small emotional moments that happen long before the wedding itself.

A Dress That Reflected Her World

Sara’s style has always leaned dark, romantic, and alternative. Their wedding, held in Tuscany and filled with tarot references, gothic details, flowers she designed herself, and touches of nerd culture, was an extension of that identity.

Her dress needed to belong within that world. Not compete with it. Not soften it. But support it.

When she found the one, there was no hesitation. It didn’t feel like becoming a bride. It felt like becoming a more complete version of herself.

More Than A Dress

One of the greatest privileges of what we do is not simply creating gowns. It’s becoming part of the journey and watching certainty arrive and witnessing excitement grow.

Sara and Alessandro tra1velled from Italy for every fitting, and over time it felt less like appointments and more like welcoming familiar faces back through the studio door.

Their wedding was beautiful. But what stayed with us most was the journey that led there. Because finding a dress is rarely just about fabric. Sometimes, it’s about finally seeing yourself reflected.
